Thames Path Cottages at the Lower Mill Estate.

Set on the edge of a typical Cotswold village (Somerford Keynes -1/2 mile) these new stone properties have been built to the highest contemporary standards. The cottages are set in an attractive landscaped courtyard adjacent to the original Lower Mill Estate Farmhouse, Old Mill and Thames Path and enjoy pleasant views over a shared Orchard and its inhabitants (rabbits!).

Both cottages sit side by side (for larger groups/families) within a 450 acre private estate, which attracts an abundance of birds and wildlife on and around its own selection of nationally important lakes (now with private hides) and triple SSI nature reserve.

There is also a shared all-weather tennis court, outdoor heated swimming pool (open March /Oct) , children's play area and within 10 mins drive two public golf courses, horse riding stables and many other attractions - see www.cotswold.gov.uk/tourism/attractions.htm.

Thames Path Cottages are peaceful and yet ideally situated for people walking the Thames Path or looking to discover the Cotswold Water Park (now bigger than the Norfolk Broads) which is a nationally recognised area for wildlife, with spring fed water of the highest quality. The park can be explored via a network of footpaths, cycleways and bridleways directly from the cottages.

The historic town of Cirencester is also only 10 mins away by car where the newly renovated Corinium Museum can be found along with all the modern facilities making your stay as simple and as easy as possible.

Many of Britains most beautiful Cotswold villages are also close by, as is the famous WESTONBURT Arboretum which is certainly worth a visit.

For visitors who like food and drink you will be pleased to hear the local freehouse is only 10 mins walk away and for those who wish to go further afield, we are lucky to have an array of outstanding pubs and restaurants. One of these is the newly crowned Barnsley House hotel where you can fine dine and see Rosemary Verey's famous gardens on the same visit.
